Photobooths are nothing new in the wedding world… but couples are finding ways to elevate them beyond just a strip of photos left on a reception table.
One of the biggest trends right now is incorporating photobooths that instantly turn guest photos into custom keychains. Guests walk away with something custom that they will actually keep and use instead of another favor left behind at the end of the night.
Bonus points if the booth branding matches your wedding aesthetic with custom graphics and monograms AND the keychain charms speak to you as a couple and your guests!
Nostalgic Sticker & Temporary Tattoo Stations.
Millennial nostalgia is fully having a moment at weddings right now! Couples are leaning into custom sticker machines and temporary tattoo stations that guests can interact with throughout cocktail hour and the reception.
Think:
- Inside jokes
- Pet illustrations
- Custom wedding monograms / crests
- Era inspired graphics
- Funny sayings tied to your story
These stations create instant conversation starters and naturally encourage guests to mingle. And let’s be real… watching a group of adults excitedly pull up their suit sleeves to apply temporary tattoos at a wedding reception is both hilarious and amazing!

This trend is one of my favorites and is completely transforming the cocktail hour & reception energy.
Instead of choosing between a DJ or live music, many couples are now combining both for a high-energy hybrid experience. Some of the most popular additions include:

- Drummer
- Electric violinist
- Trumpet player
The DJ still keeps the flow seamless while the live musician adds an immersive, concert-like atmosphere that gets guests incredibly engaged. Believe me… your dance floor is going to feel like an interactive event experience that people aren’t going to want to leave!

Interactive food & beverage stations.
Guests love experiences that they can customize themselves. Interactive food stations create movement, excitement, and another layer of guest interaction throughout the evening. Some current favorites of mine include:

- Late-night snack walls

Not only are these visually fun, but they also help break up the flow of the evening and give guests another reason to explore the reception space instead of remaining in their seats all night. These also photograph & document incredibly well, so that doesn’t hurt either!
Dance floor props are officially back!
For awhile I feel like dance floor props disappeared because couples worried they felt too overdone. Well, I am happy to say… they are back. Just in a more intentional and elevated way.
The key is selecting props that actually match your wedding vibe and encourage interaction without making the dance floor feel chaotic. Some favorites we are seeing:
- Glow sticks / wands
- Funky & custom sunglasses
- Custom foam fingers
- Big face cutouts on popsicle sticks
- Themed hats or accessories
They help loosen people up quickly and make for some of the funniest candid dance floor photos of the night. Trust me… once one person grabs a glow stick it’s game over for everyone else!
