Okay, so it is less of an obsession and more of a visual descriptor. When Jennifer came to me 9 months before their wedding describing a “Ralph Lauren Chic,” aesthetic with every detail reflecting that sophisticated yet relaxed garden vibe, I knew exactly who we needed to work with and what we needed to do to accomplish this vision. The color palette featured dreamy shades of blue, blush pinks, crisp whites, and gold accents creating the timeless elegance of a garden party overlooking the lake and the freshness of summer blooms.
We worked with Lindsay Wood Florals, Event Rents, and Swish & Co. to create a design full of classic patterns, textures and soft florals. The ceiling in the Hagadone Event Center was draped end to end to help evoke a feeling of refined romance. Every table had over the top floral centerpieces, putting special care into the long head table which was decorated with blue & white porcelain vases, a greenery garland, and ground florals in front of the bride and groom. It was like being welcomed to their own private garden.

Jennifer and Austin are based in Louisiana, so guest experience was a top priority for them both! With guests traveling in from far and wide, this wedding was more than a single event, it was a joyful reunion weekend and a heartfelt tribute to love, family, and tradition.
Jen and Austin went above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. Welcome bags greeted guests with local treats and thoughtful notes, ensuring that each arrival felt personal and appreciated. The ceremony setting itself, a garden perched above one of the Northwest’s most picturesque lakes, was a treat for out-of-town guests, many of whom were experiencing Idaho’s natural beauty for the first time. And being able to enjoy a leisurely cruise boat ride over to the venue was icing on the cake to experiencing that beauty.
In a creative twist on wedding seating charts, after the ceremony as guests were ushered over to cocktail hour, each guest discovered a blank luggage tag with their name and table number tied to the tag. The guests were then encouraged to take their tag over to Haley, the wonderful owner of Ink & Embers, who was set up nearby and ready to custom gold leaf emboss each one with the guest’s choice of their name or initials. She remained onsite working her magic throughout cocktail hour and dinner. The tags then doubled as practical keepsakes, reflecting both the couple’s love for travel and the journey their guests had made to be with them.
A highlight of the evening was the sweet (literal) nod to Louisiana’s beloved treat: the King Cake. Minus the tiny plastic baby. Instead, each cake was beautifully decorated with white frosting and simply meant to be enjoyed. The cakes added not only flavor but also a sense of home and heritage, a reminder of the traditions that bind families together.

Jennifer and Austin’s wedding at the Hagadone Event Center was a beautiful celebration that will linger in the hearts of all who attended. From sophisticated “Ralph Lauren Chic” design to the warmth of Louisiana King Cakes and the unforgettable dance between mother and son (I literally bawled), every detail spoke to the couple’s story and the joy of their union. For wedding couples planning their own celebrations, this lakeside affair is a shining example of how meaningful details and heartfelt moments can transform a day into a cherished memory.
