Highlighting one of my favorite Spokane wedding venues and hotels. The place where I started my career (outside of my college internship at Riverside Place, another amazing Spokane venue). The place where I have helped dozens of couples plan and execute beautiful wedding celebrations. A place in the heart and with the heart of Spokane… The Historic Davenport Hotel. What makes this place so special? The history, the charm, the vibes, the versatility.
The hotel originally opened in 1914 and was unlike anything Spokane had seen. An experience in refinement and world-class service. In 1985 the hotel shut down, was vacant for several years, and almost demolished until the Worthys purchased the property in 2000. The hotel then underwent a massive restoration to bring the Davenport back to life. A mere 25 years later, it is now one of five “Davenport Properties” that are part of the Autograph Collection and operated by Marriott Bonvoy.
There are 4 major ballrooms within the Historic Davenport Hotel, with several conference and smaller meeting rooms. Each ballroom has its own unique style and flare. The Isabella Ballroom is perfect for a more intimate gathering with romantic vibes. Pulling in lots of pink & gold accents with mirrors in every corner of the room. Ideal for ceremony of 200 or less and/or 150 or less for reception.
The Marie Antoinette Ballroom is full of charm! The balcony, a “floating” dance floor, intricate historic and vintage details on every column… if your wedding vision contains phrases like, “old-world”, vintage charm, sophisticated & elegant, then this ballroom would likely fulfill that checkmark! Ideal for 250 or less for ceremony and/or 175 or less for reception.
The Elizabethan Room is different than the other hotel ballrooms with darker wood features and more masculine vibes. It works well as a ceremony space, if you don’t want to worry about flipping one of the other ballrooms from ceremony to reception. This is also an excellent space for a rehearsal dinner the night before or a morning-after brunch. Ideal for 150 guests or less.
Then finally, there is The Grand Pennington and Hall of Doges. Don’t let the loud carpet in this ballroom scare you… I have planned many beautiful celebrations in this space and the carpet just falls into the background. In order to reserve the Hall of Doges, you also have to reserve The Grand Pennington, so even if your guest count can fit within the parameters of one of the other ballrooms, often times couples love the Hall of Doges so much they reserve the Grand Pennington for both their ceremony and reception. This ballroom is ideal for guest counts of up to 300 people
There are other spaces within the hotel that make for great photo areas such as the bridal suite, the 4th floor terrace… all the little alcoves and hallways… and the circular bar in the center of the lobby, just to name a few.
