Experience. This word kept coming up over and over again when Elizabeth and Matt were first telling me about their wedding priorities. Now, I know we hear this word thrown around a lot right now, but Liz and Matt meant it! These two are WSU graduates, so because of that and a deep love for this area born when they went to school here, they wanted to host a wedding here in the Inland Northwest. They wanted something that would ‘wow’ all their guests coming in from out of town and immediately get them to fall in love with this area too. The venue they chose to host their magical celebration was Zephyr Lodge right on Liberty Lake – immersing all their guests in both water front views and the beautiful feeling of being outdoors that comes when you are surrounded by trees. The perfect components for crafting a wedding festival weekend with activities for guests of all ages. And boy oh boy did we bring it – pizza trailer, converted horse trailer bar, giant bounce house, ice cream cart with ice cream from their favorite place in Pullman – Ferdinand’s, cotton candy, and best of all – light sabers! What is a “May The Fourth Be With You” wedding without killer light sabers?! Needless to say, they were a huge hit.
From the time I started working with Liz & Matt until the moment they left the dance floor for the final time as husband and wife, it was clear that they wanted to be surrounded by all their favorite people in the world to celebrate and experience their love together! One of the ways that Liz specifically wanted to remember the day by was with the smells. She wanted to be surrounded by lush florals whose sweet scent would permeate the entire venue. She wanted her bouquet to be so fragrant that even when she wasn’t holding it the scents were still there. She wanted to soak up every last smell to help her remember such a special day, so that when she picks out those specific florals for their home in the future the scent immediately pulls her back to the day her and Matt were officially joined in marriage. I truly hope this goal is accomplished for her because my goodness did their wedding day smell amazing!! Even looking at the photos now I can smell all those amazing florals. Emily McBride absolutely killed it with the floral design.
And I don’t think there was anyone better in the world to capture the glory that was Liz and Matt’s day than Jaime Denise. I remember during my consultation call with these two, after their overall vision had been described to me, I had Jaime’s name in my head as the photographer I was going to recommend and I’m pretty sure almost at the same time Liz said that they had found and were considering Jaime to be the one to capture their day. Without hesitation I told them to get off that call with me and book her. Do not wait to get on her calendar. And I am so glad they took that advice because, as Jaime said in a recent Instagram post, this wedding… this couple could be straight out of a movie!
All that said, there were some major bumps in the road and hurdles we had to get over to pull off such a perfect day. Huge thanks to the team at Lake City Rental, Epic Vibe Lighting, Shaynie at Luxury Loo, Emily McBride, & Jaime Denise for persevering through all the obstacles and staying solution positive. No construction site too unsightly that we couldn’t tackle together!! And huge thank you to Liz and Matt for sticking with me through it all, putting their trust and faith in me and the process to see them through to a beautiful and perfect wedding day that will certainly be remembered forever.
